Fribourg is the city capital and economic center of the canton of the same name, and was founded in 1157. Like its sister city Bern, Fribourg has preserved its medieval center as a whole, having an old town very rich in fountains and churches dating from the 12th century to the 17th century, the Gothic cathedral was built between 1283 and 1490 and it is an spectacular sight.
Murten is a town located between Berne and Lausanne, and is the capital of the Lake District of the canton of Fribourg. It is a beautiful small medieval town on the edge of the Great Marsh, with very interesting buildings, like the castle, the ring wall and the arcades. Another landmark is the Vully vineyards, with over a 100 hectares of vineyards are facing towards Lake Morat.
